My Advanced Graphic Design class (7 students) was given the assignment to rebrand the second largest academic event on campus, Showcase day. We met with our client to discuss their wants and needs for the event then began the rebranding process.

Brainstorming
While brainstorming we asked ourselves what we knew about the event, what questions we wanted to answer, and what were new ways to approach the event? After getting ideas on the sheets we organized our thoughts into topics that helped guide us and give us our direction.

Target Audience
We identified two audiences for this project, the students and the public. Once we established this, we were able to target our advertising to best appeal to each audience.

Touchpoints
We pitched a lot of ideas to our client which they reviewed and gave feedback on. After a lot of hard work and many revisions we were able to produce a new logo, invitations, flyers, a PowerPoint template for presenters to use, nametags for presenters, banners to be hung around campus, t-shirts for presenters, and a program for the day of the event.

My Impact
In addition to being a part of the team, I was directly responsible for the design and production of the program, which was given to everyone when they attended the event. My design was also chosen for the first ever Showcase t-shirt which was made and given to students presenting during Showcase a week in advance as a way of promoting the event.

In previous years the cover of the program was designed with architectural symbols of campus. To help rebrand the message of Showcase as a day for the students, we decided to put pictures of students on the cover.

The first ever Showcase t-shirt was made to help students take ownership of the event and promote involvement. The results were a success.
